Expanding Strip Shafts
	Multiple external expansion elements to grip the inside diameter of any core material. Gripping elements are activated by simultaneously inflating bladders with a single air valve. While bladders rarely fail (because of our proprietary material and metal protection strip), the process to replace one is simple and quick. Likewise, the gripping element can be replaced easily by loosening a single set screw in the clamping unit. Hard rubber elements are standard; silicone and aluminum are available to suit various applications. Minimizes core distortion and wall damage. Economical to purchase and maintain.

SRC-2000 Strip Chucks
	Any length and any diameter - used in through-shaft or cantilevered applications. Chuck body provides solid strength which prevents roll bounce and vibration. Simple clamping collar facilitates repositioning of the chuck. Bladders are tough, dependable, and easy to replace. External elements come standard as rugged silicone, but other materials such as aluminum and hard rubber are also available to suit various applications.
Knife Shafts
	Tight-tolerance external element shaft which holds anvils or knives precisely in place for slitting operations. A single air valve is used to supply air to the bladders. When the bladders expand, they force the gripping elements to grip the interior diameter of the knives, preventing axial movement and ensuring exact, consistent cuts. No tools are necessary to secure the knives. Chrome-plated, polished steel for added precision between the shaft body and the interior diameter of the knives. All of the other characteristics of the knife shaft are similar to the standard SR–2000 strip shaft.

Lightweight Strip Shafts

Double E’s 6-inch lightweight model SR shaft (SRL-2000) minimizes shaft weight in both light and heavy-duty applications.
It is an ideal solution for applications involving multiple slit rewinding, and where operator lifting injuries are a concern.
20% lighter than the standard SR-2000 strip shaft while maintaining the same strength.
Newly designed, unique aluminum extrusion is optimized to maintain low shaft weight per inch, without sacrificing Double E’s high standards for quality and durability.
The proprietary design employs nine wear-resistant gripping elements to grip cores securely while minimizing core distortion.
The new 6-inch lightweight shaft can also be upgraded with a self-centering feature (supporting strips help to keep rolls centered on the shaft to reduce roll bounce and vibration during winding).

SRS-2000 Self-Centering Strip Shafts

The shaft creates and maintains a consistent axis of rotation for the roll, allowing smooth winding of sensitive web materials.
It features a unique combination of wear-resistant gripping elements and polyethylene centering strips.
The centering strips help to support the roll as the bladders compress naturally during rotation, minimizing the roll bounce that can occur with standard strip shafts.
Ideal solution for film applications with a nip roll present because the roll bounce phenomenon often allows wrinkling to occur when pressure is being applied. The self-centering shaft yields consistent pressure from the nip roll all the way around the winding roll. This consistent pressure minimizes web damage.
The shaft comes standard in 3-inch and 6-inch diameters, but it also can be custom ordered to fit other core sizes.
Features Double E’s independent bladder control system. which ensures roll security and safe operation even if one bladder fails.
Replacing a bladder is a simple operation that can be performed without removing the shaft from the machine.
The SRS-2000 utilizes a newly designed air activation system, which has no moving parts and is virtually maintenance free.
